Perspectives on Modeling
The American cultural appetite for fashion industry documentaries, modeling reality shows, TV news exposés, model blogs, model memoirs, and anything else that promises a behind-the-scenes glimpse of this allegedly glamorous industry seems to be endless and ever-growing. But are we getting a better look at the industry and the people predominantly immigrant teenagers who work in it? A panel of four professional models, moderated by former model Jenna Sauers, will screen selections from three decades of model documentaries and discuss how the industry (and our understanding of it) has changed and how it hasn't.
Panelists: Sophie Ward, Sara Ziff, Crystal Renn, Dana Drori, Jenna Sauers.
