Christy McWilson, Panic Pants, Oly Mountain Boys

Tacoma, Washington - May 7, 2011 - The Warehouse is proud to be honoring a great musical tradition by bringing Americana/Bluegrass artists Christy McWilson and Oly Mountain Boys to play with indie rock group Panic Pants. With the departure of Wintergrass Festival from Tacoma, these performers will bring back the memories of what once was in the gritty city. Of course this will be another amazing show that you will not want to miss.

Whatever way you look at it, it boils down to two things - the singer and the song. If either one of them isn't up to snuff, you might as well toss it in the bin right now. Which is exactly why Christy McWilson''s solo debut, Lucky One is such a keeper. Superb songs, wonderful singing, a prime example.

From what we hear, this sums up her live shows as well. She is a legend and has the pedigree to prove it. But let her prove it in person when you come to the show!

Tacoma's very own Panic Pants is comprised of Vocalist/Guitarist Michael and Drummer Elise. With Michael's kitschy distorted guitar and vocals and Elise on the drums, Panic Pants provides simple indie rock with altruistic melody and catchy hooks. All in all, Panic Pants is a general crowd pleaser!

The Oly Mountain Boys began playing the traditional music of Bill Monroe and the Stanley Brothers adding a high-energy drive. This music is still the backbone of the band's repertoire. Over the last year, they have incorporated more than an album's worth of original bluegrass material, some of a traditional bent and others drawing liberally from folk-rock and Americana. Either way, the band combines bluegrass picking prowess and tight, three-part vocal harmonies, bringing a youthful vitality to one of America's original musical forms.
