Culture Exchange, Workshop, Edibles and Cocktails with Sandor Katz and Guests
Ferment Change hosts a Cross Cultural Conversation and Fermented Fare Workshop from 6 - 7:30 pm, at Oakland's Humanist Hall.

Join Sandor Katz and Tila Dhakal from East Oakland's Bhutanese-Nepali community for a "backstage" Cross Cultural Conversation and Workshop (Millet Wine, Gundruk (dried mustard ferment), Sinki (radish ferment), and more) accompanied by an 8-course flight of cultured cocktails, hand-crafted homebrews and locally fermented fare.

Proceeds to benefit the East Bay Refugee Garden Program. (for more information see below or go to www.fermentchange.org)

Tickets: $25 $50, $75(suggested), $100 (all levels include admission into the main event to follow)

****Sandor Katz is a Internationally known, self-taught fermentation experimentalist, author of "Wild Fermentation: The Flavor, Nutrition, and Craft of Live-Culture Foods" and "The Revolution Will Not Be Microwaved: Inside America's Underground Food Movements." He continues to spread his wealth of fermentation wisdom and demystify the home fermentation process by teaching hundreds of hands-on fermentation workshops around the U.S. and Australia.*****

*****The East Bay Refugee Garden Program works with Oakland's new-immigrant refugee communities to develop urban agriculture opportunities that facilitate the continuity of agrarian and culinary traditions through culturally appropriate food production.  Many new-immigrant families in Oakland continue to practice traditional home ferments, some of which will be featured in this unique event.  Check out the linked article about the program featuring "gundruk," Nepal's national ferment!*****
