Sanford Meisner's Acting Class

Sanford Meisner stopped teaching on the morning of February 2, 1997 at the age of 91. Since his passing, there's an entire generation of actors that can only imagine what it was like to study with the legendary teacher. Until now.

We invite you into Sanford Meisner's Acting Class.

Like his play, MEISNER, Jim Jarrett will take stage as Sanford Meisner. However, unlike the play, Sanford Meisner's Acting Class will be for "actors only" because Jarrett will actually teach The Meisner Technique as Sandy - providing a new generation of actors a glimpse of what it was actually like to be a student of the late, great Sanford Meisner. The concept where audiences interact theatrically with historical figures comes from the
legendary Chautauqua Touring of the turn of the century when actors provided audiences with the unique opportunity to meet, experience and interact with historical figures by taking the stage -in character.
Sanford Meisner's Acting Class comes from this great tradition - from the second Jarrett as "Sandy" walks on stage class is in - students will work, their work will be critiqued by "Sandy" and of course all questions asked will be answered by "Sandy".

Sanford Meisner's Acting Class will be taught on four consecutive Mondays at The Hayworth - July 23rd, July 30th August 6th and August 13th.
The cost for each class is $10 to audit and $30 to work. You may purchase your ticket in advance at www.brownpapertickets.com or at The Hayworth Theater the night of each class

If you'd like the opportunity to work in class go to the same location and register as well.
Only 14 students will be chosen and they'll be notified in advance so they can be prepared to work.
Class starts at 7:00PM sharp. Don't be late.
