FURY Factory 2011 Presents: Front Line Theater & Leah Herman Performance Group
FURY FACTORY PRESENTS A WORK-IN-PROGRESS DOUBLE-FEATURE!

FRONT LINE THEATER: RARE EARTH
In Rare Earth, an art historian from a mainland metropolis crashes his boat among a family of sculptors and artisans on the forgotten Mission Islands- that is, the former San Francisco Bay Area, a century after rising global temperatures and a sudden earthquake have left the familiar topography toppled and most of the land underwater. When an outsider restores electricity to the island, the five natives find that the sins and traumas of prior generations are embedded in every aspect of their descendants' lives. Front Line will generate a new play-text, using many of the same conventions and collaborative approaches that Shakespeare and his contemporaries used. Our performers enact a gestural vocabulary that combines the presentational styles of the Elizabethan era with the modern Viewpoints.

One morning you wake up and unexpectedly find what you held sacred and thought was reliable has fallen away. The ground opens up beneath you and the links to the world you understand begin to break. Based in magic realism, placed inside a giant cube, this work-in-progress presentation of Yes Performance Factory's multi-media play, 8 Points, explores the relationship between the human and the divine and what happens when Things Fall Apart.
