This month's topic is "GETTING ALL THE BENEFITS: A Fiscal Check-up for Independent Consultants"
Congratulations! You've made the transition from working for someone else to being an independent consultant. You are now your own boss, but how do you replace the benefits you've left behind? What strategies do you want to consider to be sure you're reaping all the financial benefits of being a business owner?
In this presentation, Ken will guide you through a "fiscal" check-up, helping you identify gaps and opportunities in your current financial planning. He'll review different strategies and options available for independent business owners concerning risk reduction, health benefits, and retirement planning. We'll also consider the impact of taxes, and discuss strategies to help you be as tax efficient as possible.
Attendees will come away confident that they're on the right track, or if not, able to identify and prioritize where they can take action to improve the likelihood they'll achieve their financial goals.
The principal of Meritage Wealth Advisory, Ken Perine CFP provides comprehensive financial planning to successful business owners. This includes personal financial planning, investment management, business transition planning, and retirement plan consulting. As part of this work, Ken helps business owners' co-ordinate the many financial aspects of their lives and get them working together.
Prior to founding Meritage Wealth Advisory, Ken spent over twenty years as the third generation working in, and eventually running, his family's business. In 2008, after careful preparation, he helped successfully sell the business. Going through that process he realized that without careful planning, many business owners might not realize all the value in their business, leaving them unable to fund the financial goals they worked so hard to achieve. Ken doesn't want that to happen to you, and is here to help.
Ken is a Certified Financial Planner and a board member of the East Bay Chapter of the Financial Planning Association. He is also an active member of the Tri Valley Estate Planning Council. He and his wife Gina live in Livermore and enjoy hiking and camping in their free time.
Our monthly meetings are held on the SECOND Wednesday of each month, begin with breakfast at 7:15am and end promptly at 9:30am. Meetings include a guest speaker, round table discussion and structured networking with time and space for additional networking after the meeting.
$20.00 in advance; $30.00 at door (space permitting, cash only)
Fee includes breakfast, your choice of:
1. Eggs (scrambled with diced ham), Hash browns and Whole Wheat Toast
2. Pancakes and Bacon
