Open to the Elements: A Symposium on Sustainable Historic Design
Join us for an organic dinner in Headlands' Mess Hall at 6:30PM, followed by a public symposium on sustainable historic design at 8PM.
Participants from Open to the Elements - a week-long participatory workshop led by artist collaborative Observatorium - will share examples of their working processes, research, and proposed design solutions. Consideration will be given to the historical context of a long-neglected building: Headlands' military gymnasium; current and potential use by artists, visitors, and wildlife; and questions around public land-use and sustainable energy sources.
