NEWPORT ARBORETUM WEEK: Colonial Tree Walk
FREE EVENT. Celebrate the launch of New England's first citywide arboretum with a Tree Walk led by Newport Tree Warden, Scott Wheeler.
The walk begins in Newport's historic town common: Washington Square. On your walk, you will pass the finest Fernleaf Beech specimen in America, and see an example of one of the longest living species on the planet.
You will also pass numerous architectural landmarks including our nation's oldest synagogue, oldest lending library, and the oldest Episcopal Church in continuous use....just to name a few historic points of interest.
Rain or Shine. Meeting Site: Washington Square at the horse trough. FREE EVENT.
