Graphic Artists Guild April Workshop
Take a look at the state-of-the-art in publishing books from Adobe products to the iPad and other eReaders.

Steve will demonstrate current workflows, complete with the challenges that still confront us in publishing to these new, fast-evolving media.

You'll hear the news, good and bad, get advice for building a document to be published in both print and eReader, and maybe have a laugh or two.

This talk, derived from a 6-hour class offered at Luminous Works http://www.luminousworks.com/class/idcs5epub   includes:

Re-purposing print documents and planning for ePub
Anchored Object refresher
Font and typographic (in)flexibility
The need for Character & Paragraph Styles
Tables of contents with no pages?

Steve Laskevitch, Adobe Certified Instructor in Photoshop, Illustrator, Lightroom, and InDesign,  started teaching and creating computer graphics in the 1980s.

In 2003, he founded Luminous Works where he has built production workflows for many companies and individuals.

He is past chapter rep for the Seattle InDesign User Group.

He has taught at Seatttle Community College, University of Washington Extension and the Cornish College of the Arts, where he was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award.

He appreciates a really good pizza.
