Bonfire Series 2015
Presented each July, the Bonfire Series is the culminating event of the PlayLab. In this two-week play-reading festival, Pipeline premieres all eight full-length plays developed over the course of the preceding season.
July 9 @ 7:30PM The Convent of Pleasure by Sarah Einspanier | directed by Portia Krieger Margaret and Katherine are moving? Going back to the earth? Going off the grid? Singing kumbaya? They're not sure what to call it. A play about pleasure, survival, how to kill ants, and how to live in nature.
July 10 @ 7:30PM Untitled Time Dilation Play by Colby Day | directed by Stephanie Ward The Big Bang. A lot happens. Entropy brings the universe to rest. Lights out.
July 11 @ 7:30PM Hiding in Sanity: A Tragicomedy by Rachel Music Inside the underfunded walls of Arkham, an ambitious new doctor sets her sights on its most notorious patient, and develops a dangerously new sense of humor.
July 12 @ 7:00PM Nostalgia is a Mild Form of Grief by Jerry Lieblich | directed by Lee Sunday Evans Katie, a photographer, goes home to look at some baby pictures. It's time for Robert to meet Mom.
July 16 @ 7:30PM Proximity by Jeremy Wine | directed by Kel Haney An underground inventor has to choose between her invention, her fantasy life with Nikola Tesla, ending a war, and a great massage from a sandwich delivery guy.
July 17 @ 7:30PM Let Me Be Frank by Salty Brine | directed by Jesse Thurston An average, small-town, American, high school sex ed-class is hijacked when a recently-fired teacher goes rogue.
July 18 @ 7:30PM Pilgrims by Claire Kiechel | directed by Stefanie Abel Horowitz On a ship to colonize a newly discovered planet, a soldier and a teenage girl find themselves quarantined together in a cabin and are forced to explore their own traumatic pasts and roles in a dying society.
July 19 @ 7:00PM Serpent in Quicksilver by Adam Fried A magician and his daughter reenact a trauma from their past, nightly on stage, while embarking with a new apprentice on a quest for atonement through the power of art.
