Dr. Lonnie Smith and Wil Blades represent the generational span of the Hammond B-3 organ legacy. They have been playing duo shows since Blades first approached the B-3 legend years ago for advice. Under Dr. Smith's mentorship, Blades has become one of the most in-demand organists on the West Coast over the past 15 years. He has performed with Nicholas Payton, Stanton Moore, and Charlie Hunter, among other major artists, and leads his own trio with guitarist Jeff Parker and drummer Simon Lott. Dr. Lonnie calls his co-headliner, "the future of the B-3."
