Women and Social Entrepreneurship: India's Middle Path to the Future
Darcy Hitchcock spent three weeks on a study tour in southern India this winter to learn more about social sustainability in developing nations. India is the second most populous nation and is developing rapidly. How they develop will have huge implications for the rest of the world. They also have gigantic social challenges. These are spawning creative responses and social entrepreneurship, where instead of relying on charity, social entrepreneurs leverage the strength of the marketplace to solve entrenched social problems. Darcy will give a presentation and slide show on what she learned.
