Culture Connection: The Briscoe Western Art Museum
The Rivard Report is inviting readers to join us on a downtown adventure, titled Culture Connection, to explore the Briscoe Western Art Museum using VIA Metropolitan's "E" route.
For our inaugural event on Tuesday, June 9, we'll get a private, after-hours tour of The Briscoe Western Art Museum. We will meet at the Tobin Center of the Performing Arts where the E bus will pick us up at 6:30 p.m. From there we will head to the Briscoe to begin our private tour.
For those who are not familiar with the "E," this new pilot program is a designated bus route that takes locals and visitors alike to some of downtowns most unique entertainment locales. And the best part it's free.
The Briscoe Western Art Museum opened its doors in 2013 and houses an extensive collection of western art. From one of a kind paintings to Pancho Villa's saddle, the museum offers an array of art and culture that typify the west.
The tickets are free but to join, you must RSVP. Seating is limited to 60 people so please sign up early.
After the tour, we will all meet in one of the Clingman Gallery for a social hour sponsored by Busted Sandal Brewing Co.
After the event, we'll hop back on the E bus to return to the Tobin Center.
