Transition Training

Transition Spokane & Sun People Dry Goods Co. are delighted to announce a two-day workshop that introduces the Transition Town or community engagement model developed by Rob Hopkins in Totnes, United Kingdom in 2005.

A Transition Initiative aims to respond to the pressures of climate change, fossil fuel depletion and increasing economic contraction. Presently, there are hundreds of initiatives around the world.

Facilitators:

Richard Kuhnel, ecological designer, systems analyst, software developer and permaculturist participated in a Transition Training workshop in England. After returning to the U.S. he helped to co-found the Sandpoint Transition Initiative. Richard now leads Transition Trainings in North America & Europe and works with indigenous ways of connecting to nature, seeking to link heart, head and hand. David Johnson was involved in a think tank set up by Rob Hopkins in the early days of the Transition Initiative in England. Having watched the Transition movement grow in the UK, David moved to Portland, Oregon four years ago where he helped start Transition PDX. David has a particular interest in the heart or inner aspect of the Transition movement, and now serves on the Board of Transition U.S.
