The Cabaret Cares Gala to Benefit Help Is On The Way Today
The Cabaret Cares Gala is the concluding night to the annual Cabaret Cares series. Cabaret Cares is a monthly cabaret series at The Laurie Beechman Theatre which brings together the Broadway and Cabaret communities of New York City, in the past there have shows performed by the casts of In The Heights,Mary Poppins,The Producers,The Little Mermaid and more as well as have featured award winning cabaret performers Eric Michael Gillett, Raissa Katona Bennett,Susan Winters,Julie Reyburn and more.The series benefit Help Is On The Way Today a non for profit that assists children and youth living with HIV and AIDS.For more information on Help Is On The Way Today you can visit their web site www.helpisonthewaytoday.org.
On May 22nd the series will celebrate its fifth year anniversary at the Laurie Beechman Theatre the evening will feature a cockail hour,dinner,and show for $100.00 everyone will receive a gift bag and there is unlimited Beer,Wine,Soda and a Specialty Cocktail provided by Svedka Vodka.
This year for the second time the evening will be hosted by award winning radio personality Valerie Smaldone. Smaldone can currently be heard on her internet radio show Valerie's New York.
Help Is On The Way Today will be presenting this years Spirit Award to Doreen Montalvo. Doreen was last seen on Broadway in the TONY Award winning musical In The Heights. The Spirit Award is given to an individual who beleives in what Help Is On The Way Today is doing and supports in many ways. Doreen has raised thousands of dollars for Help Is On The Way Today.
