Wine Tasting @ the bungo bar & kitchen
Wine tasting and 5 course tasting menu - £28pp
On Tuesday 30 June we would like to invite you to our Spanish wine night where you will taste 5 different wines alongside 5 matched speciality dishes. A true taste sensation!
On the night, we'll be exploring the Condado de Huelva region in the deep south of Spain. It's said that wines from this area accompanied Christopher Columbus on his voyage of discovery to the Americas!
Our host for the night will be José Joaquí, who is travelling over from his family owned and run winery Bodegas Conteras Ruiz, located in the Huelva region of Spain. José Joaquín will take us on a journey through the southwest of Andalucía sharing his knowledge of the region and his expert wine-making experience.
The winery was constructed in 1868 in Rociana del Condado and has a very classic Andalus feel to it with white walls, high ceilings and lots of space to work with. As a family they show commitment to their locality, they are passionate about their vineyards and they promote a natural environment. A substantial portion of their vineyard has been converted to organic viticulture with the aim to have certified organic wines in the next few years - no mean feat!
