Jessica Carr Phillips weaves together themes of intellectual property, celebrity obsession, artistic license, transformation, and freedom in this exploration of iconic cartoon flapper Betty Boop. Inspired by family history -- Phillips is a distant relative of Boop's creators Max and Dave Fleisher -- her solo work Drawn premiered at Emerging Artists Theatre's 2007 One Woman Standing Festival.
