This year, spend your Friday the 13th at a mystical, funhouse-themed cabaret with some of the most beloved gypsies in Philadelphia. Nichole Canuso Dance Company (NCDC) will hold its Third Annual Benefit Cabaret on Friday, May 13th, at Underground Arts at The Wolf Building in Center City. This event continues the NCDC tradition of exciting cabarets that, like the company's work, celebrate the awkwardness and elegance of human interaction.

The evening will be hosted by Rainey Lacey (Wandering Alice, 2008), and feature performances by Nichole Canuso Dance Company (Wandering Alice, 2008; TAKES, 2010), Geoff Sobelle (all wear bowlers, 2003; Amnesia Curiosa, 2006; The Elephant Room, 2011), Miss Martha Graham Cracker (seen monthly with her band at L'Etage), Beau Hancock (Kathryn Karipides Scholarship Winner, 2009), Charlotte Ford (Chicken, 2010), and other local favorites.

Pre-Party guests will enjoy a 6:30pm pre-party reception with the artists including complimentary cocktails and food, live music, a first walk-through of the event's illustrious auction items, and a free astrological reading. Tickets to this exclusive portion of the evening plus the main event are priced at $60.

Featured events include the Magic Photo Booth with Philadelphia's favorite photographer JJ Tiziou, Tarot Card Readings from Reader Hilary Dick, Horary Readings from Reader Max Brown, a Whack-a-Mole competition, face and body painting, hourly drink specials, and more.

Recommended Directions:
We think that the best way to get to Underground Arts (1200 Callowhill) is to take the Broad Street Line Subway to the Race/Vine stop. When you exit the subway, walk north on Broad Street a block and a half. At Callowhill, turn right and walk east one and a half blocks. You will see signage for the entrance to Underground Arts!
