The Ink Never Dries
The Ink Never Dries is a well crafted performance featuring poet Rain Wilson with guest appearances from the cast of Jungle Kings. It courageously shares a place of brilliant madness that one writer endures as her journal pages and a candid interview are shared with you. Exploring the mind of this writer shows us how the most potent words filled with heavy truths, cling to the life of a writer far past the point where they are written or spoken. The same words once used to create peace and motivate change, waged war as they sought out refuge. This show examines how it feels to live in a world where the lines on a page shaped by everyday urban reality, and hidden truth, starts fires that can't be put out. With great depth utilizing acting, spoken word, and visual art - this performance piece shares with you, what it is like to be torn open by the ugly truth as the spirit of the oppressed, loveless, voiceless, and the dead - rise out of their brick worlds to form glass words that scream relentlessly shattering the mind and pen where they are freed...and the ink is never allowed to dry!
