A Luncheon Conversation with Amory Lovins, Rocky Mountain Institute
Rocky Mountain Institute's initiative, "Reinventing Fire" provides an inspiring and credible vision of, and practical business-led pathways to, a U.S. economy free of oil and coal by 2050, and of natural gas thereafter. Reinventing Fire synthesizes and links innovations in technology, design, policy and business strategies across four sectors -- transportation, buildings, industry, and electricity.
The highlight of the lunch will be RMI co-founder, chairman, and chief scientist Amory Lovins as he shares how "Reinventing Fire" can change minds and clarify choices by showing what exists, what works, what makes sense and makes money, and what can change the world.
Joining Lovins will be David Allen, McKinstry Executive Vice President, and Rogers Weed, Washington State Department of Commerce Director, for an interactive discussion moderated by RMI Chief Executive Officer Michael Potts as they explore how the Pacific Northwest can "Reinvent Fire" in its move to a carbon-free future.

Amory Lovins is an advisor to major firms and governments worldwide on advanced energy efficiency. He is the author of 30 books and over 450 papers; and recipient of numerous awards, including the Blue Planet, Volvo, Zayed Future Energy, Nissan, Shingo, MacArthur, Heinz, Right Livelihood, National Design, World Technology Awards, and others. In 2009, Time name Lovins one of the world's 100 most influential people, and Foreign Policy, one of the 100 top global thinkers.
