foolsFURY Theater Company Workshop
Are you involved in theater or dance? Do you want to expand and develop your physical, ensemble and composition skills?
The foolsFURY workshop, hosted by Brown University's Ensemble Theater Project and the Theater Arts and Performance Studies Department, aims to provide a comprehensive overview and offer new insights into the Viewpoints theory and Suzuki method of actor training.
Often taught in conjunction, these two methods have wide application in the modern theater arena, exploring new ways to use the body, voice and stage as storytelling tools.
The one-day workshop will invigorate the Brown and greater Providence theater community by bringing together students and professionals to collaborate with the expert facilitation of foolsFURY Theater Company.
foolsFURY is a nationally renowned theater company, based in San Francisco, CA and Brooklyn, NY. Its mission is to revitalize the American theater by:
- Creating ground-breaking visceral performances that inspire audiences and artists to reconsider and reconnect with the world around them,
- Emphasizing qualities of the theater that can only be experienced live, and
- Advancing artistic dialogue through training, research and presentation.
Founded in 1998, the company was recently named the city's "Best Theater Company" by the San Fransisco Weekly, and awarded the Bay Guardian's GOLDIE award for outstanding local theater group.
