The Butterflies of Pepperwood: A Day Amongst the Dazzling Flyers
If you have ever wondered, "What kind of butterfly was that?" this is the day for you! Following an enticing presentation by lepidopterist Liam O'Brien, we will venture out into the field to find examples from each of the five butterfly families. Liam will demonstrate that the oft-maligned butterfly net is actually a valuable field tool...and not an instrument of death. It will be a catch-and-release day for all creatures involved! The class includes a moderate hike of 1-3 miles at a slow pace.
