The Original and Authentic Victorian Séance
Return with us now to 1860. Meet Leah Fox Fish who, in the 1850's, helped to spread the popularity of spirit communication. Participate in a realistic representation of a Victorian séance. Enter a spooky world of mediums, mystery, and spirit whispering; a time when many people suddenly discovered their own hidden ability to break through the veil, often after attending a séance. Spiritualism had ten million believers during the second half of the 1800's even after some mediums confessed to using trickery.
Experience a unique time-traveling entertainment; a séance of 1860 encountering the mysteries of the beyond. Using Nineteenth-Century visual effects and psychological trickery, The Preservation Society and New Old Theater have duplicated all the trappings, rappings and tippings of a real séance. This theatrical version of a Victorian Séance of 1860 uses time appropriate special effects; no computer effects! Everything is as it would have been 150 years ago.
The Original and Authentic Victorian Séance takes place in the Robert Long House, a genuine site from 1765, the oldest residence in Fell's Point and old Baltimore. Many consider this site to be haunted! Guests of the séance are offered wine to toast the spirits, and discounts at haunted Fell's Point eateries where they can enjoy continued encounters with friendly Fell's Point spirits.
