On-Farm Composting - Adding Fertility for Your Soil
Andy Bary researches and educates producers about on-farm composting at Washington State University's Puyallup Research Station. Short's Family Farm comprises 400 acres in the Chimacum Valley. They produce USDA grass-fed beef, hay, silage, and "magical soil". In the afternoon, we will tour the Short's soil and compost facility. Participants will have hands-on learning opportunities.
