"Waking Pressure" by Lyrric Cosby Jackson Dance Project
Drawing inspiration from Alice Walker's We Are the Ones We Have Been Waiting For, media artist Valentin Huen's collections "Zerstörung" and "Deep Inside | Output," as well as conceptual artist Tino Sehgal's "These Associations," Waking Pressure explores human interaction and the cognitive barriers when engaging in conversations with those in close relation or the unfamiliar through modern contemporary dance. In creating movement that articulates not only tension and aggression but also a tone of compassion, the work challenges the audience to consider the art of human interaction and communication.
