Workshop with Sharon Novak- Colorful Copper Birds
In this workshop with artist and metal smith Sharon K. Novak, students will create a unique BIRD using rich, "painterly" thin copper or brass sheet which has been previously "heat-painted" with torch, flux and silver solder by the instructor. Select a pattern, cut your bird out and let your imagination go! Using a variety of tools, learn simple techniques to add texture, form the metal dimensionally, stamp, and "cold-connect" with wire. Enhance the edges with pliers or wires and learn to twist, coil and spiral wires to use as decorative accents, attach colorful glass beads and make a decorative hook.

Workshop size: 3-10. Space is limited to provide attendees with a most valuable workshop experience
