Dee Spencer & Her Jazz Trio - JAZZ CLASSICS AND ORIGINAL COMPOSITIONS
Part of the San Francisco Treasure Series. This program will focus on the work of female jazz artists such as Mary Lou Williams, and original compositions by Ms. Spencer, who is a professor of music at San Francisco State University. The trio includes Mike Bacile on bass and Ransell Merritt on drums. A keyboardist, composer, arranger, and vocalist, Spencer was a featured performer at the Beijing Jazz Festival and the Tasmanian Summer Festival. Her debut CD, Vintage School, was released in 2002 at the Dresden Jazz Festival. Includes a post-show receptions with the artist.
