Having begun keeping a record of all his communications with God, nine-year-old child-evangelist Brother Sam suspects he's been duped. When he's conned into preaching at the family's brush arbor revival, on whiskey-cooking Birch Blake's land, young Brother Sam uses the opportunity to clear up some questions about right and wrong.
