Absolutely San Francisco
Back by popular demand after its three month run in 2010, Not Quite Opera Productions' world premiere musical Absolutely San Francisco re-opens March 11, 2011 in the new Alcove Theater, with award-winning local favorite Darlene Popovic as "Sunshine the Homeless Lady" and five other "typical" San Franciscans. Darlene gives a tour-de-force performance as 'Sunshine the Homeless Lady' - and a spectrum of people found only in San Francisco - in a musical comedy gem about lost love and the San Francisco experience. The heartwarming and whimsical book and lyrics by Anne Nygren Doherty turn the city's stereotypes on their heads only to reveal the heart and soul of its citizens. The audience laughs and cries while taking an intimate, and sometimes interactive, tour of the City by the Bay. Called "Absolutely amazing," by SF Northside. "Fun and funny" -SF Bay Times
