Slow Food Marin/Petaluma's Annual Meeting with SFUSA Pres. Josh Viertel
Slow Food Marin/Petaluma will host a potluck lunch and membership meeting. We look forward to our first get-together of the New Year to update you on the current direction and future plans of Slow Food USA and to elect next year's group of chapter leaders. The mission of Slow Food USA has evolved to include food justice as well as biodiversity, conviviality and public health, so we need your help!
We are pleased to let you know that Josh Viertel, SFUSA's President, will be with us to provide an update from the national office. Our recent success with the Child Nutrition Act and a renewed focus on the Farm Bill are just two of things that Josh will be talking about.
We will also discuss a proposed new collaboration with Marin Organic. Executive Director, Helge Hellberg will be with us to talk about how SF Marin/Petaluma volunteers can help glean nutritious food from our farms for local school lunch programs.
The day includes a potluck lunch - if your last name begins with A to P, please bring a salad or entree-like dish, and if your last name begins in Q to Z, please bring a dessert. As we want this to be a free event to members and others, please bring your own plate, silverware and glassware, and whatever you would like to drink other than water. PLEASE SIGN UP BY JANUARY 15TH.
