Eye Candy | Design Showcase
Join us as WAM hosts its fourth annual design event, in partnership with the University of Minnesota College of Design. This year's runway show will showcase student-designed outfits inspired by the exhibition Feast: Radical Hospitality in Contemporary Art.
Using nontraditional material, students' garments will draw upon the simple act of sharing food and drink used by generations of artists to advance their own aesthetic goals and to foster critical engagement with the culture of their time. The designs will extend the gesture of the artist-orchestrated meal as a means to spark encounters, focus attention, and shift perception.
