Leela
Leela: Play of the Divine is a solo performance by Chitra Kalyandurg. Accompanied by an ensemble of musicians, and featuring new choreography, Leela is a joyful play of rhythm, music and movement, connecting tradition to a new generation of artistic voices. Chitra Kayandurg is a performer and choreographer based in Maryland. Trained under Kalanidhi Dance Artistic Director Anuradha Nehru, Chitra performs as a solo artist and with Kalanidhi Dance extensively throughout the DC area. Her artistic inspiration comes from sharing Kuchipudi through a multi-disciplinary, collaborative lens; creating ensemble work that helps connect diverse audiences to the themes present in classical Indian dance.
