Last Fare
In the broadest sense, LAST FARE is a one man mystery. A murder takes place in an apartment building. An interviewer contacts the neighbors and questions them as to the identity of the victim. The difficulty of getting a cohesive view of the murdered man from different individuals emerges immediately. That we can all live so close to one another, interact on a daily basis, and yet remain strangers is the main consideration of the play. In pursuit of one personâs identity, the interviewer threads his way through a number of lives and demonstrates how profound the unseen connection between strangers can be.
