20 Moons in collaboration with guest director Suzy DiSanto presents the premiere of "Wearing Through: unraveling the tapestry of the betrothed" at the McPherson Chapel at Fort Lewis College.
Our fourth original evening-length performance project weaves together stories of the lives and deaths of the six wives of Henry VIII with the living/lived experience of 7 contemporary women, exploring the theme of survival in the context of a moment, a lifetime, the span of generations, human existence.
Movement and music intertwine through a soundscape designed by 20 Moons' musical director Jeroen van Tyn and 3 local musicians, playing new arrangements of compositions by Ralph Towner, Pat Metheny and others.
Wearable-art sculpture created by visual artist Minna Jain provides a context of transformation and shifting perspective, inviting the audience to step into a world that mingles the personal and the historical, the present with the past, and inner experience with external form.
