Christine (Enns) Tavares performs frequently throughout the United States as a studio singer, jazz and cabaret vocalist. At the age of 12 she began touring with the Young Americans. Known as Santa Clarita's Most Talented Singer (2003), and and the National Harmony A-capella Sweepstakes Winner / Best Performer (2007) Christine is a original member of the Americana group VOCO, where she toured internationally on the Americana and Folk circuit for six years. She has been featured on NPR nationally and presently sings backup for Ben Folds. Christine has worked with or shared the stage with such greats as Kevin Mohogany, Gretchen Parlato, Judy Collins, Lionel Loueke, Louie Bellson, Kitty Margolis, Ani DiFranco, Ladysmith Blackmambazo, Michael Franti, and Kebmo, In the educational realm, she serves as the Vocal Rep for the CAJ board and the Vocal Jazz Rep for Southern California, was nominated for a BRAVO award (2009) and was awarded Teacher of the Year (2009). She has been featured in Jazz Now Magazine, SingOut, Dirty Linen and is an active member of the vocal jazz group "Down4TheCount" and "The HepCat Swing Band."
