Multiple GRAMMY Nominees and Canyon Records Recording Artists R. Carlos Nakai & Will Clipman will perform selections from their album Awakening the Fire, along with never-before-heard improvisations.
As the world's foremost composer and performer of the Native American Flute, with two Gold Records and a Platinum Record to his credit, R. Carlos Nakai brings a wealth of solo artistry as well as collaborations with world-renowned artists such as Martha Graham and Philip Glass to the stage, along with many national and international tours fronting his various world music ensembles and numerous appearances as a principal soloist with symphony orchestras around the globe.
Will Clipman has contributed his pan-global percussion and drumming to over sixty albums in nearly every musical genre imaginable, and has performed and recorded with Nakai for a quarter-century as an original member of the R. Carlos Nakai Quartet and the Nakai, Eaton & Clipman Trio. Awakening the Fire brings these two master musicians together in an intimate dialogue between the world's two most ancient instruments, taking audiences on a primal sonic odyssey into the deepest realms of the human experience.
