Red (and Green) Room
Need a break from the holidays?
On Dec 10, 11, 17 and 18, The Red (and Green) Room will take a tongue-in-cheek look at the ups and downs of the holiday season through locally written skits, dances, music and readings. The show will be broken into two acts: a variety show and an original one-act parody of A Christmas Carol.
Light refreshments will be served at intermission and good holiday feelings and humor will be available throughout the show. Show starts at 8:30 at Main Street Stage, 57 Main Street, North Adams. Doors open at 8:00. Tickets are $9.99.
The show will feature reflections by local writers; humorous holiday skits written and performed by Main Street Stage company members, including "A Caroler's Lament" and "Dickens' American Idol." The original one act, titled "A Critic's Carol" and written by company member Kelli Newby, wonders what would happen if a small theatre company cast the local critic as Scrooge in their production of A Christmas Carol.
The Red (and Green) Room is a full-length version of the Mains Street Stage's popular cabaret series, the Redroom, which was rated at 5 out of 5 by the Berkshire Eagle's "Region After Dark." It is an artist's playground where genre lines don't matter. One audience member called it something you'd see in someone's basement in Greenwich Village during the 1960's.
