Albany Consort with a Big Wind Section
As well as providing the orchestra for Black Box Baroque's upcoming performances of Handel's Ariodante (March 27-28), the Albany Consort presents a large (almost) instrumental program on March 29 in Berkeley. Featured works make use of the group assembled for the Handel production, and include Bach's beautiful oboe and violin double concerto, and showoff brass, wind and strings concerti by J D Heinichen. Chamber music by Telemann and the instrumental movements from Handel's Ariodante complete the concert. And one of Ariodante's lead singers makes a cameo appearance with the group.
