Police Response to Mentally Ill/Persons in Crisis
This lecture will be given by Sgt. John Yestrebsky. Sgt. Yestrebsky coordinates the Lafayette Police Crisis Intervention Team and instructs law enforcement on mental illness and dealing with people in crisis.
This class will help educate those needing to learn more specifically about how police handle persons in crisis or with mental illness when law enforcement is called. It will address what law enforcement can and cannot do and resources available during these types of police encounters.
