Small Business Lunch at Halls
The King Street Marketing Group and Halls Chophouse are pleased to welcome, from The Gaillard Performance Hall, Foundation Director Doerte McManus, and Tom Tomlinson, Executive Director of The Charleston Gaillard Center, to Small Business Lunch at Halls, Thursday, April 2nd.
The $142 million renovation of the Gaillard Center is the largest facility construction project ever undertaken by the City of Charleston with funding evenly split between public and private funds.
As Director of the Foundation it is Ms. McManus' job to to raise $71 million from private donations. Tom Tomlinson's job is much more fun... he gets to book the talent.
***How will this project impact your business and how can you and downtown Charleston benefit?
The new Gaillard Performance Center will seat 1,800 and have acoustics perfect for the music and arts that will range from Rachmaninov to rock. The foundation will remain active until the full $71 million is in the bank. Once the final dollar is raised, the foundation will shut down, but that could take up to 10 years after the Gaillard Center opens later this year.

He is responsible for leading, managing and directing artistic programs, operations, staff, and volunteers.

She has embraced charitable causes for many years and been an active member of Zonta International and other organizations before joining the Gaillard Performance Hall Foundation in 2012 as its Executive Director.
