Our American Cousin
It has been 150 years since the assassination of Abraham Lincoln. To commemorate this event, Reading Community Players in collaboration with the Greater Reading Alliance of Community Theatre, the Berks History Center and the Penn State Berks Theatre Department will present a staged reading of the play that Lincoln was watching at the time of his death. Audience members will meet Laura Keene, Lincoln's favorite actress, and her Theatre Troupe as they rehearse the play known as the most performed play in the US and Europe until that fateful night that became part of an American tragedy.
