ACCESSIBILITY SEMINAR- 2013 California MidCycle Code Changes for Accessibility
This two hour seminar will discuss the changes in accessibility provisions of the 2013 California Building Code that will be required in all designs submitted for permit on or after July 1, 2015.

Learning Objectives ~ Attendees will:

1.Understand the adoption process for mid-cycle amendments to the California Building Code (CBC) and their effective dates for design and construction.

2.Learn the mid-cycle amendments in Chapter 11A of the 2013 CBC that affect multifamily housing projects.


3.Learn the mid-cycle amendments in Chapter 11B of the 2013 CBC for Public Accommodations, Public Buildings, Commercial Buildings and Public Housing.

4.Comprehend the new role of Certified Access Specialists in the design and construction of public accommodations and housing constructed with federal, state or local financial assistance.

Twenty two (22) years in the regulatory function of building departments interpreting and enforcing State of California accessibility regulations
Three (3) years in full time specialization as an accessibility consultant during design and construction for private and public property owners, contractors, engineers and architects
Serves as designated expert witness in both federal and state litigation for accessibility claims
