Summary:

Hack-a-Bong is a 420 themed hardware hack creating smoking accessories from everyday products or hacking a pre-existing smoking accessory. This is a competition based hardware hack-a-thon type of event that will end with a 420 themed burlesque show.





The Competition:

Teams or individuals will enter to compete to hack a smoking apparatus.  They will be provided with a smorgasbord of hardware and a required mystery item and will have 4 hours to bring their invention to life. A panel of judges will rate each entry based on  creativity, aesthetics & innovation. Doors/check-in will begin at 2pm. The competition begins at 3pm sharp and hacking will end at 7pm. Teams of up to 4 can enter, as well as individuals. An entry fee of $30 per person ($35 at the door), regardless of team size, will be required for each competitor and includes the burlesque show in the ticket price and one well drink from the bar. The winners of the competition will be announced during curtain call of the burlesque show.

The Competition Rules:


1) You have 4 hours
2) You can work individually or in teams of up to 4
3) You can make any sort of 420 related smoking accessory
4) You may attempt to plan your design in advance, and you may even bring some hardware and accessories yourself, but your work must occur during the 4 hour period
5) When you hear the starter pistol, get to the table to claim your hardware. You have to work with whatever you end up claiming.
6) You must incorporate the mystery item into your design
7) After 4 hours, present what you made to the judges
8) Judges deliberate and vote. Winners are announced in each category after the burlesque show. Categories include: Most Creative, MacGyver, Strippers Choice and Audience Favorite.

The Burlesque show:

420 theme performances may include classic and neo-burlesque, boylesque, variety performance, fan fiction (erotica) readings, etc. Doors will open at 7pm and performances begin at 8pm. A ticket price of $10 GA and $15 VIP ($15/$20 at the door) for those *only* attending the burlesque show. The winners of the hacking competition will be announced during curtain call.
