 Safehouse presents 8 on a Chair!  This collection of one-acts will be shown at the Electric Lodge Theater in Venice April 24 - 26.  The only thing that ties the 8 pieces together is the only set piece - a single chair.  Each story tells its own unique tale, some comedic, some dramatic and some with an air of mystery.  


"The Dating Game" by Patrick Mulvihill mashes up on-line dating and a Greek Chorus as an outstanding man looks for love.  Steve Altman's "The 9th Protocol" is a witty murder mystery set inside a top secret government research lab.  In Tino Lucente's "Welcome to Hollywood", a pair of intense producers take a screenwriter on an absurdly frantic ride.  In "The Chair that Goes to Hell," Tom Larchelle imagines a world in which spies and damned, pop-culture quoting pets inhabit otherworldly dimensions.  "Force Closure" by Josh Breslow has a masked man torturing a family tortured by dysfunction.  A pair of ex-lovers are forced to revisit their relationship at a nearly perfect 80's party in Beth Curry's hilarious "Musical Chairs."  Dax Shelby and Bob Stevens' "Aktenskap" explores relationships set against the conformity of IKEA.  Miranda Parham brings "Neumann" to life as a mad scientist creates the perfect Ubermench.  


Each piece is cast with actors from the ranks of Safehouse's accomplished and talented members. Having previously produced "8 at Franko's", "8 at the Park" and "8 at the Zoo," this is the 4th annual Fundraising Show for theOffice, located at 256 26th Street and home to SafeHouse.
