Essential Elements of Acting: Actor's Inspiration- Costumes & Characters
Costumes are powerful tools of character suggestion that can underline, juxtapose or catalyze character choices.  In this debut workshop, Kaibrina Sky Buck, resident foolsFURY Designer and Ryan O’Donnell, long-time foolsFURY actor, will lead you through the relationship between costume and character, designer and actor, inner and outer inspiration. Participants will use improvisation to explore creating a devised piece with a character. Professional costumes from the foolsFURY repertoire and other pieces will be provided.  Feel free to bring a costume piece of your own.

Ryan O'Donnell, MFA is a long-term member of foolsFURY Theater and also a member of Shotgun Players. He teaches acting all over the Bay Area including foolsFURY Theater, Berkeley Rep and Marin Theatre Co.
Ryan  has appeared in several foolsFURY plays including Twelfth Night, Big Love, The Devil on All Sides and P.O.S.H. Ryan is a dedicated teacher with a talent for bringing humor and technique to all his classes.

Kaibrina Sky Buck, (costume designer) is a textile designer and costumer with a BFA in textiles from CCA and an MFA in costume from NYU. She has also studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in France and apprenticed as a master dyer in Saitama, Japan. She loves exploring color, texture, shape and image to seduce viewers into the world of the stage. Kaibrina’s designs are informed by her training in visual art and her experience as a dancer and performance artist. She has made work for dance and theater in New York and San Francisco including Theater Mitu, Misnomer Dance, Steven Koplowitz, foolsFURY, Shotgun Players, Banana, Bag and Bodice, Word For Word and others.
