Cameron Esposito and Rhea Butcher! Presented by Let's Comedy!
Cameron Esposito and Rhea Butcher will be in the Tiger Room @CS3 on June 6! Tickets are only $18. Doors open at 8:30 with the show to start at 9.
Called "the future of comedy" by none other than Jay Leno, Cameron Esposito is a fast rising Los Angeles-based standup comic, actor and writer. In addition to her work as a nationally touring headliner, Cameron has appeared on Late Late with Craig Ferguson (CBS), @midnight (Comedy Central), CONAN (TBS), Last Call with Carson Daly (NBC), Maron (IFC), Adventure Time (Cartoon Network), Funny as Hell (HBO Canada), and as a regular on Chelsea Lately (E!) and TakePartLive (Pivot). She has appeared at Just for Laughs Montreal, Toronto and Chicago, and at SXSW and the Moontower, Bridgetown and SF Sketchfest comedy festivals. Cameron's sophomore album, SAME SEX SYMBOL, was released in fall 2014, debuting at #1 on the iTunes comedy charts and holding strong at #3 on Billboard for several weeks. SAME SEX SYMBOL was named a Best of 2014 comedy album by The AV Club, Consequence of Sound, Laugh Button and Paste Magazine. Named a Comic to Watch by LA Weekly, Time Out Los Angeles, Jezebel, Los Angeles Magazine and Cosmopolitan Magazine, Cameron hosts her own standup show, Put Your Hands Together, every Tuesday night at the famed Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in Los Angeles, and has her own biweekly column about life as a standup comic on The AV Club. Cameron hosts two podcasts - Put Your Hands Together, a podcast version of her popular standup show - and Wham Bam Pow, a scifi/action movie show distributed by Maximum Fun. Her first book is forthcoming from Hackette/Grand Central Publishing.
Rhea Butcher grew up in Akron, Ohio as a skateboarder and a printmaker. She moved to Chicago after a series of grad schools, and cut her teeth comically at The Second City and iO before eventually landing in standup. Rhea brings a James Dean type cool to her highly personal jokes. She has performed in clubs such as Zanies (Chicago), Comedy Works (Denver), The Jukebox (Peoria), and The Improv (LA); as well as alternative comedy instititions like Chicago Underground Comedy and The Lincoln Lodge (Chicago), The Meltdown (LA), UCB (LA), Union Hall (NY) and The Bell House (NY). She was part of the 2013 Bridgetown Comedy Festival, Cleveland Accidental Comedy Festival, SF Sketchfest (2014 & 2015), New York Comedy Festival, Atlantic Ocean Comedy & Music Festival (2012) and JoCo Cruise Crazy 5 (2015). You can catch Rhea featured in Buzzfeed's "Ask A Lesbian" webseries (which she co-wrote), FeralAudio/AST Records live stand up podcast "Put Your Hands Together" and on her movie podcast, "Wham Bam Pow" on Maximum Fun. Rhea has also featured for Cameron Esposito on the recent "Same Sex Symbol" tour and been a frequent guest and fan favorite on Kumail Nanjiani's "XFiles Files" as well as Dan Harmon's "Harmontown." Her debut comedy recording will be released as a 7" split with musician Gabe Schray for the Mutual Appreciation series on Jonah Ray's new imprint, "Literally Figurative" in the early spring of 2015.
