The 2015 AIA|LA CITY LEADERS BREAKFAST SERIES serves as an opportunity for architects & designers and other community stakeholders to meet directly with key individuals transforming Los Angeles in a roundtable setting to discuss innovative ideas that will ensure a healthy, sustainable and economically competitive future.
ROBERT M. HERTZBERG Senator, District #18 - State of California
After serving in the Assembly from 1996-2002, including two years as Speaker, Bob Hertzberg returned to elected office in November 2014 after 12 years as a leader in private business and public policy.
Among his accomplishments, he built an international renewable energy business; invested in solar, wind and electric-car projects; did government work for Mayer Brown LLP, one of the world's largest law firms; and worked for structural changes in government through two civic groups: California Forward and the Think Long Committee of California. Hertzberg represents nearly 1 million San Fernando Valley residents of Senate District 18, which includes part of Burbank and the following communities in Los Angeles: Arleta, Granada Hills, Hansen Dam, Lake View Terrace, Mission Hills, North Hills, North Hollywood, part of Northridge, Pacoima, Panorama City, Sherman Oaks, Studio city, part of Sun Valley, Sylmar, Toluca Lake, Valley Glen, Valley Village, Van Nuys, the city of San Fernando and Universal City. 8:00am - coffee & pastries, networking 8:15am - 2015 AIA|LA President Ted Hyman, FAIA welcomes everyone on behalf of AIA|LA. 8:20am - Senator ROBERT M. HERTZBERG speaks for 15 minutes about the various initiatives he is working on as the Senator for District #18. 8:35am - Q&A Roundtable Discussion about how AIA|LA can serve as a greater professional resource to help advance these initiatives. 9:20am - wrap-up and conclusions. 9:30am - end
