Into the Woods
From the shadows of a warehouse in the brand-new Downtown LA art/performance complex Big Art Labs, Calvin Remsberg and Lucid by Proxy will bring Los Angeles a darker, uncluttered interpretation of Sondheim's classic Broadway musical, INTO THE WOODS. Stripped of much of its typical sunny storybook trappings, Remsberg and LbP's INTO THE WOODS makes use of the foreboding warehouse environment, concert-style lighting and modern costume to tell the story of life after "happily ever after."
This unique production will be presented by an extremely talented cast, who, between them, boast numerous awards and major credits in theater, television & film. At the helm, as the show's Narrator and Mysterious Man, is Anthony Geary, who has played Luke on GENERAL HOSPITAL since 1978. Broadway and Los Angeles stage and film veteran Calvin Remsberg will direct the show.
INTO THE WOODS is Lucid by Proxy's 17th production, and will be the group's official 10th Anniversary production. It is directed by Calvin Remsberg, with musical direction by Richard Berent and choreography by Valerie Rachelle, and features Nancy Glassner-Clayton, Johnny Cannazzaro, AnnaLisa Erickson, Zachary Ford, Carissa Gatti, Anthony Geary, Pamela Hamilton, Jayson Kraid, Jennifer Malenke, Shannon Nelson, David Nett, Sarah Orr, Jessica Pennington, David Pevsner, Valerie Rachelle, Sara Stuckey, Michael Uribes, Jessie Withers, James Paul Xavier and Josie Yount.
