The 2015 AIA|LA Emerging Professional Series Building Systems :: ARE Workshop
When: March 4th, 2015 (6:00 - 8:00pm) Where: BuroHappold Engineering, 800 Wilshire Blvd. 16th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90017
This workshop will cover the Building Systems Division of the Architectural Registration Exam. We will review and apply knowledge and skills required for the integration of multiple building systems into a building design. The seminar will address the evaluation, selection, and integration of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialty systems in building design and construction. We will cover codes, regulations, and environmental issues related to the various building systems. The Seminar will also include a review of the exam vignette, using the NCARB Practice Software, to develop a reflected ceiling plan that integrates ceiling, lighting, mechanical, and structural systems and incorporates life safety considerations. Speaker Biography:
George Reilly has 15 years experience working in the MEP industry, providing mechanical engineering design solutions for projects in varied sectors including commercial office, commercial residential, education, healthcare and civic/culture. George has extensive site experience in mechanical engineering during his time working in contracting. George has used REVIT MEP on a variety of projects to facilitate the coordination process with other engineering disciplines as well as architects. He has developed working knowledge of how the REVIT workflow impacts the architectural design process and has acquired the knowledge necessary to manage REVIT projects, company templates and drawing graphic standards.
