Event
Local Meets Global: Market Walk and Bangladesh Vegetarian Cooking Lesson
Participants will gather for an optional walk through the Wednesday afternoon Farmers' Market in Corvallis at 4:00, to learn what kinds of local ingredients can be used in Asian cooking. We'll continue our shopping at First Alternative Co-op's South Store, to buy the dry goods and spices we'll need to make lentil soup, vegetable curry, pakoras, salads, and other dishes. This first portion of the event is optional. Everyone will meet at 5:00 in the co-op's community kitchen, where Chef Christina Reimer will teach us to cook a delicious vegetarian meal with all the trimmings. We should be finished cooking by 7:00, at which point we'll enjoy a conivivial meal together.
